This piece was hand built and pierced in a geometric pattern, then refined through trimming/sanding, and the application of an underglaze transfer (from Elan Transfers). After firing, the piece is cleaned, and clear glaze is applied over the hydrangea blossoms. When the clear glaze has dried, wax is used to cover and protect the design while the rest of the piece is glazed.

This piece is lead free and food safe. It can be microwaved and washed in the dishwasher. However, as with any special and delicate item, not exposing it to hot/cold extremes, and hand-washing is the kinder option.
